Warning – fake resort pages on Facebook
Since September 2025 more than 200 travellers lost money – an estimated ₱500,000 (reports differ on whether this covers all cases) – to fake Bantayan resort pages. Never pay to a private e-wallet.

Ferry fares Hagnaya–Santa Fe went down
Since May 2026 a regular one-way ticket costs ₱370 with Island Shipping and ₱392 with Super Shuttle Ferry. Students, seniors, PWD and children pay less; for Super Shuttle, student, senior and PWD tickets are sold at port counters and accredited outlets, not online.

Hagnaya port pauses loading at high tide
The 2025 earthquake damaged the Hagnaya wharf. Since 28 March 2026 the Cebu Port Authority pauses loading during high tide – plan extra waiting time.

Bantayan church after the 2025 earthquake – what visitors should know
The magnitude 6.9 earthquake of 30 September 2025 broke the top of the façade of the old church in Bantayan town; the inside was closed and Mass moved outdoors; the state in November 2026 is not yet confirmed.
