Booking safely

Since late 2025 there have been many fake resort pages and booking scams on Bantayan Island. The island’s hotel group, the One Island Tourism Association, and the Department of Tourism advise you to:

  • book only through the resort’s official website or verified page;
  • never pay into a personal name or private e-wallet;
  • check the resort against the Santa Fe list of registered accommodations on the town website.

FAQ

Where is the tourism office?

Each town has its own office at its Municipal Hall. Santa Fe’s is in Barangay Pooc, contact (032) 438-9610 (Citizen's Charter 2026) or (032) 234 6935 (website) – being checked · [email protected]. Bantayan’s and Madridejos’s are in their town halls in the Poblacion. Office hours are not confirmed yet. Unverified – confirm locally.

What is the tourism office’s Facebook page?

We list a Facebook page only after the office confirms it to us. Fake pages exist, so be careful with pages that ask for payment.

What number do I call in an emergency?

911, from any phone, free of charge.

Where is the nearest hospital?

Bantayan District Hospital in Bantayan town (reported in barangay Ticad). It serves all three towns, has ambulances and now does some surgery. It is a Level 1 hospital; ask there whether serious cases are transferred to Cebu.

Which ferry should I take?

Most visitors take a RoRo ferry from Hagnaya (San Remigio) to Santa Fe, which takes about one hour (plus waiting time at the port). Aznar also runs Kawit (Medellin) to Santa Fe.
