Money & ATMs

Money, cash and ATMs on Bantayan Island.

Short answer: Bring enough cash from the mainland. Ferry tickets, tricycles, small shops and tours are paid in cash. The island has a few ATMs in Bantayan town and around Santa Fe, and on busy holidays they can run out of cash. GCash or Maya works in some places; some resorts and restaurants take cards.

You find ATMs in Bantayan town and around Santa Fe, but not many. When the island is full – Holy Week, Christmas, long weekends in summer – they can run out of cash. Get enough cash in Cebu City before you leave.

A list of ATMs with exact locations is coming after our local guide checks them on site.

Tips

  • Carry small bills (₱20, ₱50, ₱100) for tricycles and fees.
  • Keep some extra cash in case the ferry is delayed and you need food or a room.

Plan your trip.
